Another standout session came from Julie Denning, whose presentation, More than a Condition: Cancer – The Impact on Lives, Confidence and Work, encouraged attendees to think beyond a diagnosis and consider the wider impact serious illness can have on an individual’ s life. Exploring everything from confidence and wellbeing to employment and financial resilience, Julie provided a powerful reminder of the human stories behind advice. It was a session that clearly resonated with attendees, including Lianne Pearson of Yorkshire Financial Services Ltd, who commented:
“ Being a new advisor, it was great to get a good understanding of protection in general. My highlight was certainly the Julie Denning presentation and how she highlighted the impact of life after cancer diagnosis and how telling that story will certainly support in providing protection to clients.”
Alongside the keynote presentations, breakout sessions hosted by L & G, Shepherds Friendly, Aviva, The Exeter, Zurich and Usay Compare gave attendees the opportunity to hear directly from providers, discuss key market trends and gain valuable insight into the solutions available to support their clients.
On Wednesday 8th July, we welcomed over 100 advisers, firms and industry partners to the ICC Birmingham for the inaugural Omni Protect Adviser Conference, bringing the industry together for a day dedicated to learning, networking and sharing ideas.
While the presentations formed a key part of the agenda, one of the most rewarding aspects of the day was seeing so many advisers, providers and partners
The conference was designed to create opportunities for attendees to connect with one another, hear from experts in their fields, and explore the issues shaping the market. Judging by the engagement throughout the day – and the feedback received afterwards – it certainly delivered on those ambitions.
A particular highlight was an engaging and thoughtprovoking presentation from entrepreneur, investor and technology expert Piers Linney MBE. In Putting AI to Work in Financial Services, Piers explored how artificial intelligence is evolving at pace and what that means for businesses operating across the financial services sector. His evident expertise and honest approach helped bring his message to life; the technology and its evolving potential, are attainable right now. His presentation certainly left attendees with plenty to consider as AI continues to transform the way we work.
